Who Are We?
The Monroe-Union County Community Development Corporation (MUCCDC) is a non-profit agency. It was founded in 1989 to help all Union County residents gain access to affordable housing, decent jobs, and to develop a sense of security. MUCCDC offers opportunities for low-income families to fulfill their dreams of home ownership and economic self-sufficiency.
MUCCDC believes it takes a holistic approach to community development. Therefore, MUCCDC has been greatly assisted by grants from the City of Monroe, The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency, The North Carolina Rural & Economic Development Center, Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, The North Carolina Community Development Initiative, The Affordable Housing Group. United Way, Sisters of Mercy, First Union National Bank, US Department of Housing & Urban Development, North Carolina department of Labor, North Carolina Department of Commerce, and First Citizens Bank.
